PlayStation Store Launches Holiday Sale

Christmas, the biggest holiday in the United States, is only a few days away. Players nationwide will be able to unlock the new PlayStation 5 console, games for both PS4 and PS5, and PlayStation Store gift cards. It’s the perfect opportunity for PlayStation to drop prices on some of its biggest games, that’s exactly what it did. As of Wednesday, December 23, Holiday Sale at the PlayStation Store has officially begun, with significant discounts on major PS4, PS5 and PS VR games.


In total, there were more than 1,800 items sold as part of the PlayStation Store Holiday Sale, although that included multiple versions of certain games as well as DLC and microtransaction items. In total, 324 of those listings are for PS5 and 1615 of them are for PS4, with several cross-platform games crossing between the two. Because PlayStation VR Enthusiasts, there are also 74 discounted products. Discounts anywhere from 5% or 10% off all the way up to 75%.

For PS5 owners, there are several options including major 2021 releases and exclusives. Major game releases include Call of Duty: Vanguard, Far Cry 6, Guardians of the Galaxy, Battlefield 2042, Diablo 2: Resurrection, Resident Evil Village, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade part of the sale. For exclusivity, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Deathloop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, and Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut have great prices.

PlayStation gamers won’t have to rush into decisions regarding what to pick and what to pass. According to Sony, PlayStation Holiday Sale will last for about a month. It has already begun, has begun on December 23 and will last through January 19 into the new year. More specifically, the end of the holiday sale is 11:49 local time on Wednesday, January 19.

However, Sony notes that some games will stop selling on January 4, although it’s unclear why. Upon further inspection, most games say that their sale will end on January 8th and not January 19th. It looks like the store needs an update or some other limitation. are preventing Sony from showing the exact end of the sale on each game’s store listing.

Regardless of when each game’s sale ends, the PlayStation Store Holiday Sale is available now and will stay that way at least for the rest of the day. Christmas and New Year’s Day. That would be plenty of time for PS4 and PS5 gamers to spend whatever extra holiday money they have on hand on a game they may have missed in recent memory.
